Bio/About Me

Born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut as Carlos  Perez but best known as “ ESKIMO”. Music has been a huge part of  life growing up. ESKIMO started practicing on his friend’s Technics 1200 and doing parties at the age of 14 after falling in love with the popular 80's revolution movement called Latin Hip Hop which today is called Freestyle Music.

ESKIMO graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting with experience in radio broadcasting, video editing & production and radio commercial production. A few years later he collaborated with his cousin and started a company called “CUZ ENTERTAINMENT” – where they offered DJ services for weddings, corporate events & parties. The company is still in business but he decided to branch out as his hunger for the music industry grew. While networking on myspace, Eskimo came across the LA RADIO LIVE Internet Radio page and decided to contact DJ DANSKI who was the program director at the time and sent him one of his mixes. It was then that he was put on the roster of DJ’s as a radio personality and managed to work his way up to being assistant program director until  late 2008. Eskimo decided he needed to branch out into other genres of music as La Radio was only playing Latin Freestyle  and so he hooked up with Miami's own Destune Records Producer Dj Jorge Ojeda. 

He moved to  Miami and  helped launch Wepa.Fm the first fully Bilingual Internet Radio Station with Jorge Ojeda and several other partners. Eskimo was not only a partner but he  had a Monday-Thursday show 7pm-Midnight EST & 7-10PM on Fridays where he created his signature T.G.I.F. (Thank God Its Freestyle) show on WEPA.FM. He got to experience the daily operations of being a radio personality there but he know he had to venture into his own. He has since left Wepa.Fm and has worked hard on launching his own Internet Radio Portal called HotMixXx.Fm. Besides launching his radio portal on HotMixXx.Fm DjEskimo has a syndicated show called “The Meltdown Mix Show” which streams to over 200K listeners globally on cell phones services such as At&T, Sprint, Alltel, US Cellular under the Latin Urban Channel. ESKIMO has many years of experience, spinning at many clubs, promotional events fornon-profit organizations, large freestyle events and concerts. He continues to tackle everyday challenges in the music industry on his way to a successful career. Be on the Lookout for him at a city or town near you.
